This year, some School Without Walls seniors committed to colleges through early decision, but the process has sparked debates about the @sww2025decisions Instagram page. The official School Without Walls account, designed to celebrate seniors’ college acceptances, has faced criticism over delays, inaccuracies, and inconsistent formatting.

Some students feel that certain posts receive more attention than others. Concerns have been raised about delays in posting decisions, errors in details, and variations in design quality. While the platform was intended to highlight each student’s accomplishments, it has also caused frustration among those who felt their posts didn’t meet expectations. For example, Sonja Talwani (’25) shared: “I wrote Dartmouth College on the form [where we submit our decisions to be posted], and they put Dartmouth University. It’s not a big deal but just a little annoying.”

In some cases, posts were removed and later reposted, which some students found disheartening. Kailas Campen (’25) commented, “Posting a decision and then deleting it is not ideal, and I feel bad for the four people whose posts were removed. But it was just a slight hiccup, and I think the account has been great since.” At the start of the year, a format was uploaded to guide submissions but was later taken down along with some posts. As a result, certain students’ posts were reposted, which some felt diminished their significance.

The account includes a form in its bio where students can request to be featured. However, this process has drawn criticism for delays in posting decisions compared to other submissions. Senior Maia Riggs (’25) expressed her frustration: “There seems to be a pretty big delay between when people submit their decision and when it gets posted.” In response, senior counselor Crystal Pace explained that decisions must first be verified before being posted. She clarified that participating in the page is optional: “It is not a mandatory decision.”

Despite these challenges, many students appreciate the effort behind the account. Tara Roberts (’25) acknowledged the hard work involved: “People will always take something as being biased … when in reality it doesn’t matter,” she said, referring to accusations that account administrators were prioritizing certain students’ decisions.  Many seniors view the page as an opportunity to celebrate their classmates’ achievements. One of the account’s administrators, Camryn Durant (’25), addressed concerns about delays, saying that “it should pick up again soon.” Durant also emphasized the careful review process. “If something doesn’t look right to me, I’ll work on it for a while or ask for a second opinion,” she explained.

Overall, the @sww2025decisions page appears to be improving based on student feedback. Many are now looking forward to future college announcements.
